SALTASH AREA CHURCHES

A holy place in Saltash, a holy place for Saltash, and a place
to encounter the holiness of God in Jesus Christ our Lord

Wednesday 1 July

Wednesday 1 July

These last few weeks seem have been the longest period in my life when I have not been to church – or had a church to go to! I have been missing being together with friends for worship. I have missed saying prayers and listening to the readings. There have been no sermons to listen to, either! It was good to see familiar faces on the television the other day reading the lessons and leading the prayers in the Pentecost service. As you can imagine – and like so many of us – I shall be glad when things return to a more normal pattern.

The togetherness of our worship is important. I know that we find the presence of God wherever we are. Whenever two or three are gathered together the presence of Jesus is to be found. This is surely the experience for all of us. We need each other both in our worship and in our daily living.

Dear Lord, we give you thanks for this new day; for its ‘busyness’ and especially for the friendship and fellowship we share. We are glad for the love and mutual support of friends. So we pray for each other and for all with whom we worship. Pour the richness of your blessing upon them. Be with us through all the activities of to-day. In our encounters to-day with people around us, fil us with your grace. Through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
