It has been a frustrating and a worrying time, some blood forms have arrived in time but I have another procedure to follow before I can take up my appointment.
So the words of this morning’s Celtic Daily Light did not immediately resonate with me.
Grant me the grace to appreciate your providence,
to contemplate your glory
and to become part of creation’s song of joy.
It can be hard to become part of creation’s song of joy when you are feeling down, we do need the grace and the will to appreciate God’s providence – all that we do have rather than what we do not. To see God’s glory is often a matter of opening our eyes and ears to nature. As I write I can hear the birds sing, I can see some beautiful flowers, I am warm and well fed; we have a well-stocked larder, and fridge and freezer.
So it is back to basics, saying thank you to God for three things each night that have cheered or made you happy that day – and being specific, and saying out loud if possible. Last night it was for me a fantastic family Zoom meeting, a delicious adapted recipe, a telephone call from a dear friend. I wonder what it will be tonight.
