To enquire about a wedding in any of our beautiful churches, please ring Reverend Diane Burrows on 07579 797689 or email Di.
Today more than a quarter of all marriages in England take place before God in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. You’re welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church.
Marrying in church is personal, meaningful and spiritual just as you want it to be. Churches are special and unique places to get married in – the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.
Weddings take place throughout the year except in the season of Lent. If you wish to marry in a Parish Church there are certain criteria which you must fulfil in order to comply with Marriage Law. The Banns system, Common Licence or a Superintendent Registrar’s; Certificate having been obtained will usually suffice. In some cases a Qualifying Connection may need to be proved. The Parish Clergy can advise, or for further information please click here.
